Fran is a real community hero. She is always able and willing to help and assist our neighbors while we have been under the mandate to isolate and quarantine ourselves. Although the risk is different for everyone to catch the virus, she ensures all around us understand the consequences. She has donated water (44) cases to the Waco Salvation Army, she is patient in communicating to children the purpose and reasons for staying safe. She reminds me that when I do go for that grocery run to protect myself at all costs. With our 5 puppies, she makes sure they stay within our property and does not allow others to pet them. She calls the elderly neighbors to see if they need anything and if able, will make it happen. As an Army wife for 30+years, she knows that we can not make it alone.

My hero is my husband Steve, he served 26 years in the army and served 2 years in Iraq. He has always put our family and community first before his needs. He continues to work hard to protect and provide and has given back to the community anonymously. Steve's heart and generosity make him not only a community hero but my hero, he puts everyone's needs before his own. I nominate Steven as a community hero.

My husband Richard works at the largest mortuary in our County. He is working 15 or more hours a day serving the funeral homes and the justices of the peace in our county and the neighboring one. He picks up bodies at homes, nursing homes, hospitals, traffic accidents, and crime scenes at all hours of the day and night and in all weather conditions. He also takes test samples for the county of possible Covid-19 cases. He assists families when they lose a loved one. On top of that, he assists me. I have epilepsy, so as tired as he is, he still makes time to get me to the doctor, take me shopping, and helps cook dinner, just to name a few things he does.
