Maryssa is a single mom of 2 beautiful daughters and she is also a nurse. She had been a frontline nurse battling Covid-19 in a covid unit at the hospital she works at. She had to send her daughters to her parents to protect them from the virus while she worked long strenuous hours. She has done so much to help and given up even more during these trying times. To many, including myself, she is a hero.

Our Hero is a husband, father, mentor, son, uncle, friend, and our protector. He is a healer. He has worked on some of the most horrendous scenes out in the medical field and in the hospital. Hugo still comes home at the end of each day and takes care of us. He has spent more than half of his life caring for others. We could never payback all the times he has helped someone. He wouldn't accept even if we tried. He is humble and god fearing. He is our HERO.

Alan is a Founder of a Community for the chronically homeless. He is an amazing individual!

Michael has been helpful to the community by working with children in the various schools and within the community. He is owns a DJ/ entertainment business and has donated his time and services to various organizations, schools, and events. He has also contributed to a Police Athletic League (P.A.L) scholarship for 2 years, matching the $500 scholarship that goes to a P.A.L high school senior. This contribution has went from a $500 scholarship to a $1000 scholarship for the PAL senior's collage of choice. Michael has been caught multiple times going above and beyond by making sure that the youth in our city feel that they can be comfortable with speaking and interacting with police. He has been caught buying treats, doing patrol vehicle demos by letting anyone that wants to sit in and view his patrol vehicle, and is a great dancer! He always puts a smile on everyone's face when there is an event with music and he break-dances for the people in attendance. He was on the news and went viral multiple times for being a role model and doing what is above and beyond by, dancing for kids, playing sports with people, and even going on local news broadcasts to talk about events and even give a dancing lesson to news anchors. Michael is everything that an officer should be, honest, has integrity, and genuinely cares for his community. I could not think of anyone more deserving of recognition than Michael. Since the beginning of this crisis, Michael has been on the front lines of Covid 19. He & his team have worked tirelessly keeping the Drive thru testing clinic running as quickly & efficiently as possible. Michael has spent a great deal of his time off duty reading, researching & keeping himself updated on what’s happening with this crisis. It is a personal commitment he has made to make sure to inform not only his soldiers but all of the people he knows as the most effective way to keep them & their families safe. Not once has he complained about the extra stress this has been for him. Michael has gone the extra mile for all those who depend on him, including his military and non-military family. One thing that stands out most is that instead of feeding into the stress and panic that has been hard for so many of us, he is able to keep a calm presence at all times. This has given all of those who know him the ability to not struggle as hard with our anxiety and fears. Michael has been such a dedicated solider his entire career and has really shown during this time of crisis how personally he takes his responsibility as a leader, teacher & mentor. I am so proud of my brother-in-law that thru this he has still been able to balance his responsibility to our country, his work family, those who come for testing, as well as his responsibility to his family as a dedicated father and husband. He never brings the stress of his day home with him but walks in the door daily with a smile. I know I am not alone when I say he has been more than heroic not just during this crisis but in his entire time as a soldier. If we had more people like Michael the world would be a better place.

Tim and wife, Barbara, are exceptional people. They have been heroes in getting groceries and supplies for older individuals in the community. Tim contracted the Covid 19 virus and has just given his antibodies to 3 critical patients.

Trevor works for a crime scene/biohazard company and cleans active covid cases so buildings are decontaminated and able to reopen.

Melody is a young woman who just recently accepted a nursing position in Austin. Over the past couple months, she has had to work long hours. During this time, she barely was able to take care of personal needs, but she did not complain because she loves what she does. Her father made a special trip up to Austin just to take her groceries, because she could not shop during normal hours. She is a very giving and dedicated person and I am very proud to be her grandmother.

She works as a Dispatcher. Hasn't missed a day of work since the onset of COVID19. She monitors alarms for homes and businesses. If authorities need to be dispatched, she makes sure they are. She and her coworkers are at work every day. Whether its burglar alarms, fire or ems, they monitor and dispatch authorities when needed.
