We just lost our dad to this awful virus. But my sister is a nurse and she finds the courage everyday to go to work and be a blessing to others who are going through what we just went through. For that I salute you Big Sis.

Chef Q. started with eight families, but word spread fast, demand grew, and she now makes and delivers 120 to 140 meals every night, focusing heavily on healthy: lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, nothing fried. On Sundays, dinners are extra-special. She runs a tight ship. Everything is zero contact. Everyone is masked. Shoppers arrive and place groceries in the designated decontamination area outside. They sanitize every single package before they come into the kitchen. Bags are thrown away, boxes broken down.

I nominate my dad Shane Gleason he is a firefighter and is on the front lines fighting the corona virus. When he is not working he is always there to help others. Back in January there was a big fire in our town. My dad was off that day. The fire was in a big building that housed low income families. When my dad found out he immediately started to get donations of clothing and other supplies to help the 11 families that were left homeless! He also made dinner for them the next night! When I grow up I want to be like my dad he is my hero.

The person I am nominating lives in my neighborhood. She is an Anesthesiologist who is helping out extremely sick patients with COVID-19 in the ICU. While we are all seating at home to stop the spread of the virus she goes to work everyday. Sometimes we don't see her for days as she is helping patients in her hospital for days and night. Sometimes she is gone for weeks together. She is one of the brave soul who is directly helping the COVID-19 patients without even thinking of danger to her life. As in personal life she is a mother of 1 year old baby. I am sure she is losing precious quality time with her kid when she is dedicating those countless days and weeks to treat the patients in this unprecedented time. No matter how hard the situation is we always saw her with a smile on her face and always ready to help. We salute our unsung neighborhood hero who puts her life in danger to save everyone else's lives. I hope you consider her for the award.
