PORT HADLOCK, WA and KIRKLAND, WA – JULY 24, 2017 – Wave Broadband, a gigabit broadband and commercial fiber services company, announced today that it has selected Port Townsend, Port Hadlock and surrounding area as a launch site for Wave’s new Gig Speed Internet product. The new gigabit internet tier recently became available to all residences serviced by Wave, bringing the fastest connectivity speeds available in this area.
Members of the community and the press are invited to join local officials and Wave’s executives to officially launch the groundbreaking service at Wave’s Port Hadlock store, 10712 Rhody Dr. #101, on Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. The event is free and includes prizes, refreshments, product demonstrations and Q&A regarding the service that brings the area internet speeds up to four times faster than what has previously been available to area residents.
Wave’s Gig Speed delivers the capability of download speeds of up to 1,000 Megabits per second (Mbps), providing connections as fast as consumer devices can handle. This class of service provides the bandwidth needed to readily accommodate households with multiple users, devices, and simultaneous downloading and streaming. Wave’s Gig Speed Internet for residential customers is available at a retail rate of $99 per month and comes with Wave’s Unlimited Data plan.*
Wave Business currently provides gig (and faster) fiber solutions for larger enterprise companies. This new class of service is designed to provide affordable Gig Speed Internet to small businesses who have an ever increasing need for more bandwidth –to support cloud-based applications, off-site data storage, video conferencing, and providing Wi-Fi for their customers and employees. Wave Business will have the same Gig download speeds and will also include no limits on data usage.
Wave has worked closely with local officials to develop a concise, attainable plan to roll out the coveted Gig speeds throughout Wave’s local service footprint.
“We are thrilled to bring Gig Speed Internet to this area, part of Wave’s broader plan to launch gigabit speeds throughout our entire coverage areas in Washington, Oregon, and California by this fall,” said Harold Zeitz, President & COO of Wave. “The demand for faster internet connections at an affordable price is on the rise, and our Gig Speed Internet is ready to meet that demand.”
Wave partnered with local municipalities to facilitate building out the infrastructure to support these new speeds. This agreement will be a model for future partnerships between the company and municipalities seeking affordable high-speed internet.
“I speak with area residents and business owners every day, and I am thrilled that this area is one of the first to get gigabit internet speeds. I know that many in the community will share my excitement,” said Steven Warburton, Wave’s Vice President of Operations for Washington.
The service is available immediately to all area residences serviced by Wave now. Those who have questions regarding the residential service can visit gowave.com/giglaunching or call 1-866-928-3123 for more information, while Wave Business customers can get more information at http://wavebusiness.com.
