Sef has his in-laws taking care of them until this virus is under control. Not only is he a physician, but his wife, Laura, is as well. They are the most selfless people I know. Adil has been helping local community members living below the poverty line to get access to food and shelter during the Covid pandemic.

Samantha works for a non-profit looking after people with disabilities. It is a constant struggle to find and train staff offering low wages and also to recruit nurses so she ends up looking after the medical requirements (being on call) most of the time as well. Samantha is 8 months pregnant and works tirelessly through this and the pandemic.

Zach works two jobs. He is great with everyone on our elementary campus. The kids love him and call him Mr. V. He also works at HEB. He always has a smile for everyone. He is easy to talk to, and he is ready to help with what needs to be done in both of his positions. I am proud of him for serving on one of our front lines during this time of uncertainty.

My husband, Lewis, is my local hero. He has continued to work at an essential business during the COVID-19 outbreak while also taking care of me, his wife, with severe health issues. I am on the liver transplant list and at times experience episodes that require his care and attention. When this occurs, he is so good about taking care of me. He is a very amazing man, always willing to be there for me and do whatever needs to be done. To keep me safe he does all the errands, like the grocery shopping. We have only been married 7 years and 4 years into our marriage I experienced my liver cirrhosis and I jokingly told him back out now, this will be a crazy ride health-wise. But no, he honors his vows completely: in sickness and in health. He is a true hero to me, always putting me before himself and he does that with others as well. He is a shining example of a kind and honorable man and I am so thankful he loves me and he embraces all aspects of a true hero.

My wife's name is Danielle and she's a nurse. She works 12 hour shifts giving aid not only to Covid 19 patients, but to other patients on her Cardiac floor. All the hospitals are having tighter restrictions and have changed regulations, she is still there fighting not just to keep our family safe but others as well.

My hero is my wife Ali. She's a youth minister here in Waco and also works as a media manager for a local religious organization. She works both part-time because she loves her students and loves the connections with others that her jobs bring. She could easily go find a higher paying job or one with more prestige but this is where her heart is.
