Dr. George worked tirelessly to provide excellent care as an ER doctor during the Covid peak in NYC. He barely slept and saw suffering on a daily basis. Please reward him this honor.

My local hero is my brother Randy who works for a retail grocery chain. Ever since the virus hit our country, he has gone to work six days a week. He helps to make sure the store remains open and helps with stocking and receiving shipments from the suppliers. He cleans the store and helped filled in when some of his coworkers were unable to show up for work. He is my idea of an everyday hero!

Leora is a Respiratory Therapist at a hospital, on the frontlines. I haven't seen her in 6 months. The day before she was going to visit, she tested positive for Covid19. She was in a 7 day quarantine while I worried about her. After 7 days, she went back to work and is still working to keep her patients alive.

My hero is my hubby Rocky Lee. He is so selfless and is such a hard worker. He is a chef at a nursing home and takes such great care of all of them. He cooks for them as if he is cooking for us with great care and with love! He is such a blessing to that entire home and he still manages to take care of us as well! He is a true inspiration!

Linda is a resident doctor in The Bronx, in the top Hot Zone of the COVID-19 pandemic. (The New York Times did two videos about the hospital.) She works 12-16 hours a day, six days a week, at the overwhelmed Intensive Care Unit while still keeping her everlasting optimism in the midst of deaths. Linda is not just one of the brightest and most exceptional doctors in the hospital, but as a Hungarian citizen on a visa, she puts her own life at risk in the front line without proper PPE every day to save American lives. As a resident doctor, she is doing this for $14/hour, which is about two beers in NYC with no tip. Yet, on her only free day, Linda managed 500 pieces of N95 masks, 200 goggles, and 100 face shields for her colleagues in her department. She even obtained five intubation cubes, which are highly crucial protective gear, yet the ICU department didn't have any until this very moment. I am exceptionally fortunate that I know a wonderful human being like her.

Nicole is a dedicated and caring nurse working very hard at her hospital to help save lives. She needs to have internet at home to help her unwind after physically and emotionally taxing and long shifts. Nicole is my Healthcare Hero for sure! Thank you RCN and thank you Nurse Nicole!

I nominate my friend Jeanine who is an LPN and works at a senior living center. She has been working overtime and getting mandated to stay at work because many of her employees are sick with COVID-19 as well as the patients. She has type 1 Diabetes so it is more dangerous for her. And missing work IS NOT AN OPTION!! She has been double masking and taking as many precautions as she can. She even has her 16 year old son staying on the second floor of their home while she stays on the first floor, to keep him as safe as possible. She is definitely my hero and I'm proud to call her my good friend. ❤❤
