My fiance Breanna is a true hometown hero! She graduated from Community College in nursing and began her career in the medical ICU. She's the most caring person I know and is so passionate about her job. Just prior to the COVID outbreak, she stepped up and was the only individual from her unit to apply for the position of clinical coordinator of her unit. She received that promotion and has taken on that leadership role amidst the pandemic. Constantly checking on her unit even from home and on weekends, Bre is always available to support her team to provide the best care for her patients. I'm extremely proud to have someone like her in my life and to support her any way that I can so that she can support her staff caring for COVID patients, as well as the patients themselves!

I am nominating Ernest because he knows exactly what to do for our community in times of an emergency. Every day, he gives food and a hot meal to anyone that wants it. He serves my community without getting the compliments he is so well overdue! He is a real gentleman and I would like to acknowledge all of the good deeds this man shares with my community each day. This man should be awarded in such a great way. This man thinks of others first. He doesn't ask for anything so I would love for him to receive some kind of recognition for what he does for my community. He is loved by everyone!!!

Kylee is a new nurse in NY and hasn't seen friends or family in 2 months. Everyone she knows has left the city and is quarantining with their families elsewhere. She'd love to come home on her days off, but understands that due to her exposure to Covid-19 she could infect someone. She's the kindest person, has never complained, and doesn't consider herself a Hero. This would be such a great thank you for her service, compassion and dedication!

I nominate my husband Eric as my true hero. I am his wife Heather and was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2015. I have had so many surgeries but the cancer came back so many times. I recently last year made a decision to get my bladder removed. I had a neobladder surgery that led me to a lot of complications and needed a 2nd surgery to see what happened in Nov 2019. Then a 3rd surgery due to more complications and received a stoma, sadly. Then had a 4th surgery to fix an abscess in my abdominal area. It was so hard to cope with all of this. My husband has supported me since 2015 my 1st diagnosis and stuck by me through thick and thin. He came to see me in the hospital 9 times back and forth from our home to Philadelphia each day to see me. He has helped a lot with feeding out cats, our boys and cleaning the house. He is an essential truck driver as well and works many hours. He is a very hard working man. He continues to help me through recovery. It's been 6 months, but each day I continue to get stronger. I am getting better each day by the Grace Of God. I beat cancer but am in remission and it never traveled inside my body so we are truly blessed. We hoped this 2020 was going to be a better year but sadly not because of the COVID 19. It hurts not being able now to get out and go on vacation. I wanted a great time away. We will someday. I love him so. He is a strong man and has done so much for me makes me so grateful and so loved. I love being his wife and he continues to surprise me each day! I can't wait to help him clean the house Ha ha! Amen ❤

She is an amazing, kind person who is making masks for people who need them and she is also making food plates for people who are in need of food or don't have the resources at home.

Reverend Jason has a long history of social action. He began an organization called Black and Pink which focused on incarcerated LGBTQ youth. Folks communicated to them via letters. We still do that in our congregation today. He is instrumental in creating an atmosphere in our church where everyone is appreciated. I don't know how he does it, but his energy seems boundless. He is out demonstrating with folks concerned about the conditions of incarcerated people and the facts of the high population of brown and minority peoples. He reaches out to all members and friends and encourages our care in phone and social media contacts. This situation now where we have to meet by Zoom, he has quickly adjusted and done so magnificently. I know of no other person so right for us at this time.

Hello, Deon is outstandingly kind, considerate and of course religious. He has been working in the hospital for years. He is very dedicated even though he has a wife and two children. I have seen him go in to work on his days off during this crisis because others were afraid to go in. His mother-in-law has MS and lives in NJ. That has been hit extra hard and she lives around 4 Nursing Homes! He always makes sure she is okay. He smiles and is absolutely divinely calm. He needs more than a high five!

My daughter Nenisha works at kids care for the hospital and involves herself with many people helping them through hard times. That's why I nominated Nenisha as a local hero.

Mima is a great person with huge compassion, helping the community at this time.
